This item is a blemished item and will have cosmetic imperfections.

We are now taking orders for factory blemished GWACS CAV-15 MKII AR15 Lower receivers.   We have a limited supply in stock ready to ship.   They are the same light weight rugged single piece AR-15 polymer lower receiver but with varying cosmetic flaws and flashing issues. They are 100% functional and covered under our standard limited lifetime warranty.   Obviously as a deeply discounted blemished item we will not accept returns for cosmetic issues.

Each lower will have minor scratches or flashing cleanup that did not meet the GWACS Armory quality control for aestethics; again, they are 100% functional.

  1. Safety selector issues 3 Star Review

Posted by on Jul 5th 2018

Great lightweight strong lower receiver. The included instructions claim you can install the safety first before the fire control group. This is only true for mil-spec style triggers. For drop-in triggers, this is FALSE. The instructions say further that you can remove the safety by positioning the toggle between fire and safe and pushing the selector out. This is also FALSE. My detent partially damaged the receiver in the attempt. Not submitting a warranty claim because the lower still works after all the wrangling. The instructions should, however, be updated.

  2. WWSD is a beautiful thing 5 Star Review

I picked up a blemished option and couldn't find a single thing wrong with it! Planning on buying another in OD when they come back in stock!

  3. Blem ar15 lower 5 Star Review

Posted by on May 18th 2018

I've bought several GWACS lowers but this is the first blemished one I have seen. The blemish consisted solely of a bit of light brown discoloration on an otherwise completely black stock. There was no pitting or structural fault of any kind, just the discoloration. Seeing as I intend to camo paint this build all that so-called blemish amounted to for me was a very nicely discounted price. What's not to like?

  4. these are really cool. 5 Star Review

I ordered a blemished stripped lower on the recommendation of the inrange tv guys, and i have to say there is a reason they are out of stock right now, its because they are awesome. they say mine was blemished but it looked fine to me. i was skeptical about the length of pull and the grip angle but it is really a non issue and im pretty picky about it because im less than 5 and half foot tall but even with armor on the stock is great. cant recomend it enough. I will buy more!!

  5. Lightweight, Affordable, and Customizable 5 Star Review

Posted by on May 3rd 2018

I'm building a very lightweight AR-15 and I wanted to give the CAV-15 lower a try. Fully assembled after some modifications, I saved about 5 ounces from already low weight aluminum lower that it replaced (1lbs 11oz vs 2 lbs). The blemished version does have some blemishes (obviously) but it's nothing that wouldn't happen from a few days of real-world use anyway. It's also extremely easy to modify. I cut the stock down to a 12" length of pull, stippled the pistol grip, and cut an MLOK slot into the stock so I could install a QD sling mount. It has a very tight fit to the upper and it uses non-standard take down pins but it hasn't been a problem for me. There is a bit of a longer reach from the back of the pistol grip to the trigger so if you have very short fingers, you might want to invest in an extended magazine release. The buffer retainer is held in by a very tight roll pin so it's a bit of a challenge to install but secure enough or you can just use a captured buffer like I did. Overall it's a great product that is lightweight, durable, and easy to customize and I will probably buy more in the future (especially if they ever end up doing a Gen3 version).

  6. Blemished lowers 5 Star Review

I was really stoked when I looked these over. Then I got them home and started pre fitting the parts and got stoked all over. I was a little nervous about what I would receive when I ordered them, almost didn't complete that order. I'me glad I did. From what I can tell so far these lowers are everything They are cracked up to be, and these are supposed to be blemished. Thank You G.W.A.C.'s and a hi 20 to Ian and Karl, without their W W S D series, I would still be on the fence!

  7. What they say , no more no LESS 5 Star Review

Posted by on Apr 17th 2018

Great service , was unaware of the product until I saw the In Range video
like a lot of people did apparently . I waited my turn and got a really cool lower , different but loving it . Did not go all out like the video but put enough in to want another . Faxon 14.5 p&w,ALG hg,Aero slick upper,BCM trigger for now, and JP buffer/spring . No complaints just smiles . This was a blem btw , all good .

  8. For a rifle you intend to use, there are no "blemishes" present 5 Star Review

Posted by on Apr 16th 2018

What amounts to a bit of scuffing and scratching is the totality of the blemishes I found. For the difference in price, don't bother buying the perfect one unless you're looking for an immaculate wall hangar or safe queen.

The only modification I had to do to this lower, other than assembling the parts into it, was to trim a small burr off the front of the magwell. Every other part of the flashing had been well trimmed and smoothed out nicely.

I'm delighted with the A1 length, and after measuring against my collapsible stocks I found that most of them were set to about the same length. I don't feel restricted by having a fixed stock, and with the weight savings this lower has a pencil barreled A1 upper feeling like a toy rifle!

I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

  9. Great lower, very light weight and seems very durable 4 Star Review

Posted by on Apr 13th 2018

Assembling the lower definitely is different enough to cause a little trouble. Getting the safety detent in was a bit of a challenge and I actually got my first detent stuck in the hole (had to cut the spring in half and use that along with a second safety detent I happened to have from a previous build, luckily it works great!). The roll pin for the buffer retainer is very tight, tried from both sides but had to just hammer it in.

Quality is top notch. For how light this is you wouldn't expect it, but it's a real solid lower. I'd imagine just as strong if not stronger than a aluminum lower. All being one piece makes it more difficult to assemble but cuts down on fracture points like where the buffer tube would screw into the stock, which should make this very hard to damage.

Weight on this is amazing. Easily half the weight of my normal lower, if not a bit less. With a long heavy barrel upper the balance is not too good, but with my 16" carbine dissipater upper this thing feels great. Can even do one handed shooting like with a bullpup, it's just so easy to hold up.

Overall a great product that I will absolutely buy again. It would be nice to have a slightly shorter stock that can be made longer with spacers, would help the women in my life have an easier time shooting it, but the length is in the middle ground where it does wok for everybody.

  10. Better than I expected 4 Star Review

Posted by on Mar 24th 2018

Bought the blemished lower thinking I'd probably paint it anyway.
The blemish on mine was very light scuff marks on the right side of the buttstock, like it slid across the floor of the warehouse. I was curious as to whether I would have to remove any flashing.
All of the fitment areas were deflashed, and what wasn't done in the other areas isn't visible. I fit it to a completed upper and cycled many times. No problems. The range will tell the rest. Follow up to come.
